Observatory

The three golden globes of The Griffith Observatory are reminiscent of mid-Eastern architecture, and the view the observatory affords of the city below is certainly a majestic one. From its perch on the south-facing slope of Mount Hollywood, one can see the Hollywood sign on Mount Lee, the LA basin, and the Pacific Ocean. Telescopes are set up on the grounds for the public to use, and inside, high-powered telescopes are set up for use as well. The big draw is the Planetarium that takes place in the large dome, where audiences can view the night sky as they’ve never seen it before, as projected by lasers and set to music.
