The Cowboy Palace Saloon

Unassuming from the front, this squat one-story building is rather drab and anything but palatial, despite the red-stenciled sign proclaiming its name. The back parking lot includes a hitching post that usually has least a couple of horses tied to it, and at busy times, a whole line of the nickering and whinnying beasts. Inside, however, is a riot of color from neon signs, rows of bare bulbs, and red vinyl bar stools and booths. A large stage is usually occupied by local country musicians or even amateur-night contestants, and the dance floor is crowded by partners in cowboy hats and cowboy boots doing the two-step.
