Aside from the marquis advertising any upcoming acts, this red-and-black building on the Sunset Strip doesn’t look much like a club, especially one with as storied a past as Whiskey-a-go-go. The “goch” is added on in jest at its Welsh owner, though it is spray-painted on the front under the more formal cursive lettering and he hasn’t made the effort to remove it. Downstairs is the stage and a dance floor and the “go go cages” on either side of the stage. Decor is minimal, with black walls, floor and ceiling. Upstairs, tables and chairs are situated in a U-shape so people can eat and see the stage from above. The menu is simple and inexpensive: hamburgers, chicken wings, fries, drinks.
